It's always great to see the world's superheroes hard at work protecting citizens. I don't recognize his accent, so I assume it's off-world.

Film Review: X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009)

wolverine

A lot of people weren't happy with X-Men 3: The Last Stand. While it was definitely disappointing and the first two installments were leagues better, I didn't hate it as much as certain people did. In fact, after seeing X-Men Origins: Wolverine, I'm bumping the third movie up to "decent" status. And when people ask me if I liked X-Men 3, I'll reply with "at least it's not Wolverine."

I wasn't expecting much from Wolverine. After hearing about all of the terrible press, including a 36% on Rotten Tomatoes, I was expecting it to be pretty bad. I wasn't expecting an adamantium-laced train wreck.

Peter Dinklage as Tyrion Lannister?

Peter DinklageIn a piece of news that I'm extremely excited about, Peter Dinklage, of The Station Agent and The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, is being eyed for the role of Tyrion Lannister in the HBO adaptation of George R. R. Martin's medieval fantasy novel Game of Thrones.

HBO intends to turn the Song of Ice and Fire series into a television series with each season covering one novel's story arc. The Game of Thrones pilot will be shot in Northern Ireland in October of this year.

I've only seen Dinklage in a few roles, but he's good at being both cold and sarcastic, which are great qualities for the bitter Tyrion Lannister. That, mixed with his resemblance to the character, makes for some pretty perfect casting.
