Adventure Time Dollar Bill

dollarbill1

What the math? Like most of you know, and by most of you I mean Jeff Morin, I'm a huge fan of the Cartoon Network show Adventure Time. I also like dollah dollah bills, ya'll. So this is the best dollar bill desecration that I've even seen.

Random Movie of the Week: Homecoming

homecoming

Homecoming's synopsis, of which I posted a little bit yesterday, is completely ridiculous. The movie is about dead soldiers who come back to life to cast their vote in the presidential election, specifically to vote against the man who sent them to war based on a lie. I think it's safe to say that the writer doesn't support the Iraq War.

Peter Dinklage as Tyrion Lannister?

Peter DinklageIn a piece of news that I'm extremely excited about, Peter Dinklage, of The Station Agent and The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, is being eyed for the role of Tyrion Lannister in the HBO adaptation of George R. R. Martin's medieval fantasy novel Game of Thrones.

HBO intends to turn the Song of Ice and Fire series into a television series with each season covering one novel's story arc. The Game of Thrones pilot will be shot in Northern Ireland in October of this year.

I've only seen Dinklage in a few roles, but he's good at being both cold and sarcastic, which are great qualities for the bitter Tyrion Lannister. That, mixed with his resemblance to the character, makes for some pretty perfect casting.

TV Review: Castle

Nathan Fillion as Rick CastleABC's new series Castle premiered last night. It stars Nathan Fillion of Firefly fame as the titular character Rick Castle, an author who becomes involved in a murder investigation when someone starts recreating the grizzly murders in his novels. Stana Katic, who's done plenty of television guest spots but nothing real notable, plays Kate Beckett, the tough-as-nails lead detective desperate for a love life but not desperate enough to fall prey to Castle's constant advances, even though she's somewhat smitten with him.

Sound familiar? It should. Castle is just a mish mash of pre-existing formulas. Charming oddball that helps solve cases? Check. Straight-laced cop that reluctantly tolerates oddball's nonsense? Check. Female character with no love life despite being ridiculously attractive? Check. Even the story arcs are riddled with clichés. Character who won't drop a supposedly closed case because it "doesn't feel right?" Check!

Super Dave is Back!

Super Dave Osborne

Stuntman spoofer Super Dave Osborne, who headlined the Super Dave variety show that aired from 1987 to 1991, is coming back for a four-part series this Summer that will air on Spike TV. Comic Bob Einstein, who in recent years has portrayed Marty Funkhouser on Curb Your Enthusiasm and Larry the surrogate on Arrested Development, will be reprising his role as the accident-prone stuntman as well as writing the mockumentary series.
